NorthStar Gold: Gold exploration in Canada.

It has been a while since I have updated everyone on NorthStar Gold. It was last year that I spoke about this private company that was going public. It hit every check mark on the model. The stock has pulled back a little but there is a big upside.  This is a wonderful company to illustrate what to look for when entering the mining sector.

I remind people to take a quick look at the Model article I wrote a couple years back. Nothing has changed to the generality of this outline. The difference is that we are much further ahead into retail acceptance. The volatility and chaos today coupled with efforts of so many of us in the sector to educate people has meant money coming into projects in great commodities like gold, in safe jurisdiction like Canada and regions with prolific resources like the Abitibi Greenstone.

The Management is equally as important as the project. That may sound funny but lots of great projects have fallen apart due to structure and poor management. This company has an outstanding management team and this article is really focused on Mike Sutton.

A tight share structure with 38 million shares out. No debt and $1.8 million in the bank with some encouraging drill results. The historical Abitibi Greenstone region is rich in geology and located in Ontario which is a favourable mining jurisdiction.  The property is near Kirkland lake which is a world class mine.

I am not going to tell you that it is like Kirkland or Kalgoorlie with 25 million and 40 million ounces. Mike Sutton will make that comparison regarding the types of rock, the age of the rocks, the style of and structure of the intrusions and faults. Mr. Sutton spoke about the tellurides which are exceptionally rare but were also found in Kirkland lake and he would know. Mr. Sutton was the 2006 Prospector of the Year for Ontario (along with Stew Carmichael) for the discovery of the South Mine Complex while he was Chief Geologist and Assistant Manager at Kirkland Lake Gold Inc. Mr. Sutton would know.

It goes without saying that this gives me a level of comfort and confidence in testing the theory thoroughly. Exploration is a tricky game but having people who have found gold, been involved in major projects, and understand the ingredients required for discovery is imperative. Having Mike is a huge advantage. This addresses much of the risk on an already unbelievably cheap stock. There is a lot of great picks out there, but the risk reward is looking good on NorthStar.

This is management with skin in the game. They own 50% of the company. They recognize the upside potential. The corporate structure is tight, held in good hands and is ready for more excitement in gold as the world continues forward toward the Depression and the Great Reset. The company is sitting on $1.8 million in cash and ready with a drill program in a market that is rewarding success.

So, what is the urgency!? They are drilling, and there will be news. News moves stock. Right now, the stock is cheap and has interest. It climbed from its IPO and is sitting strong today. What are you counting on? That the team is on to something. That the data, the geology and the opinion from Mike Sutton and the rest of the team is meaningful and that their theory is worth testing. To me, this is an exploration story worth funding.
